The Phönix Hotel
A brief introduction
The PHÖNIX Hotel, opened in 2008 after extensive renovations, is a hotel in Bergneustadt certified with 4 stars “First Class” by the German Hotel Classification. The 58 hotel rooms have 98 beds and are bright, friendly and modernly furnished.
The history of the PHÖNIX Hotel dates back to the 1960s. The PHÖNIX Hotel, formerly also called “Haus Florian”, was a fire department recreation center for fire department members of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
In 2009, the non-profit operating company got into financial difficulties due to exceeding the construction costs and had to file for bankruptcy. The property was sold in September 2010 and has since been operated as a private, family-run hotel.

Sustainability
In order to be able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings in the future, we attach particular importance to sustainability. Our combined heat and power plant (CHP) converts gas into electricity for the PHÖNIX Hotel’s own needs and also provides, for example, the swimming pool heating. In addition, photovoltaic systems are installed on our roofs, which convert solar power into energy.
Directions
The Phönix Hotel Bergneustadt is centrally located yet quiet on the edge of the Bergisches Land – easily accessible by car and public transport. Regardless of whether you are arriving from Cologne, the Ruhr area or the Sauerland: Thanks to the proximity to the A4 motorway and a good connection to public transport, your journey will be uncomplicated and comfortable.

Via the A4 motorway
- Take the Bergneustadt exit in the direction of Bergneustadt and follow the road
- At the first roundabout, take the 3rd exit
- At the 2nd roundabout, take the 3rd exit again
- At the 3rd roundabout, take the second exit
- After about 500 m, turn right into Quellenweg
- Turn right at the end of the road
- The hotel is on the left
By public transport:
- From Gummersbach with line 301 to Bergneustadt
- Change at the “Graf-Eberhard-Platz” stop to line 314
- Get off at the “Quellenweg” stop
- The hotel is 100 m away
