Fire Flame Hiking Trail

Hiking in Bergneustadt

The fiery side of the Oberbergisches Land

Experience the fiery side of the Oberbergisches Land on the “Fire & Flame” hiking trail. This beautiful circular route uses information boards to tell the story of great fires, the use of fire, and the local fire brigade. The “Fire & Flame” trail is about 12 km long and can be completed in around 3–4 hours. The starting and finishing point is the local history museum in the old town of Bergneustadt. The trail first leads through the town, past historical information boards, and then along forest and farm tracks over the Beulberg and the Knollen with its distinctive observation tower – ideal for panoramic views of the Bergisches Land, the Sauerland, and even the Westerwald.
